The Hug Scarf
Regular price $40.00
The Hug is a unique, knit stitch scarf. It’s simple, rhythmic pattern creates a thermal, multi-layer structure. It really feels like getting a soft, cozy hug when wearing this special scarf! Optional tassels add a playful finish and comfortably weight the ends. The side edges have an illusion of a continuous stitch pattern, as if knit in the round, but actually this design is knit flat, best on straight needles. The design is suited for intermediate knitting level.
The first session will be on Friday, November 8 at 10am-12pm. The second session will be determined for one or two weeks later, depending on the participants availability and anticipated time needed to complete the project - tentatively Friday, November 15 or 22 at 10am-12pm.
The class fee is $40. Sample yarn and needles will be provided for making a test swatch and learning the pattern stitch.
Materials for this original scarf project can be brought from home or purchased at Spun.
Participants will need two sets of needles. Recommended sizes: 10 1/2 and 15.
The scarf is made with 200gm/approx 240 yards chunky weight yarn - wool or wool blend. Recommended yarn: Kraemer Perfection Chunky (2 skeins).
The Hug is taught by Bonnie Steele, fiber enthusiast and knitting extraordinaire, of Grand Junction.
